Drag Click Test
Drag clicking means pulling a finger across the mouse button so friction makes the switch fire many times in one stroke. Bursts reach several dozen clicks in a second, but it does not work on every mouse and it wears the switch out.
- The result depends heavily on the mouse: it needs the right button coating and a switch that responds this way.
- On the CPS chart a drag shows as narrow spikes rather than a flat line — the burst lasts tenths of a second.
- Switches wear faster under this load. That is the price of the technique, not a rumour about it.

What is drag clicking?
You pull a finger across the mouse button and friction against the coating makes the switch fire several times in a single stroke. The browser sees each firing as its own press.
Why can I not get drag clicking to work?
Almost always the mouse. It needs the right button coating and a switch that responds to it — on many mice the technique simply will not happen however long you try.
Does drag clicking damage your mouse?
Yes. It puts the switch under a load it was not designed for, and the button uses up its rated life faster than normal.
