10 Second CPS Test
Ten seconds is the distance people compare on. It runs long enough that one lucky burst does not decide the score, and short enough that fatigue has not yet rewritten it. If you quote your CPS as a single number, it almost certainly came from here.
- Normal clicking: 6–10 CPS. Jitter clicking reaches 10–14, butterfly clicking goes higher still.
- Ten seconds is long enough to show pacing — check the chart for whether your rate falls off near the end.
- Consistency is the spread of your intervals: 100% would mean clicking like a metronome.

FAQ
What is a good 10 second CPS score?
With normal clicking, 6 to 10 CPS is a solid result and anything past 10 needs a technique. Below 5 is usually the mouse, or a finger that never leaves the button.
Why is 10 seconds the standard?
It is the middle ground: shorter and one lucky burst distorts the number, longer and you start measuring forearm endurance instead of click speed.
What does the jitter figure mean?
It is the standard deviation of the gaps between presses. A small spread means an even rhythm; a near-zero spread over a hundred clicks points at an autoclicker rather than a hand.
