    Why do the ideal weight and the healthy range give different answers?

    They are two different models. The range 59.9 kg - 81 kg is the BMI band 18.5-24.9 applied to 180 cm, while the ideal weight 75 kg is a single point from the Devine formula and corresponds to a BMI of 23.15. The formula knows nothing about age, frame size or muscle, so its point need not sit in the middle of the range.
