How to Determine Zodiac Signs Compatibility

Astrological compatibility: analysis fundamentals

Zodiac sign compatibility is an ancient art of astrology that helps people understand the potential of relationships between partners. Astrological analysis is based on several key factors:

  • Sign elements — Fire, Earth, Air and Water create different energetic interactions
  • Modalities — Cardinal, fixed and mutable signs have different life approaches
  • Planetary rulers — influence character and behavioral traits
  • Elemental aspects — harmonious or tense angles between signs

Types of compatibility in astrology

Professional astrological analysis considers four main types of compatibility:

Love compatibility — the most popular inquiry that analyzes emotional and romantic connection between partners. Special attention is paid to Venus and Mars influences.

Friendship compatibility — determines potential for long-term friendship, common interests and mutual support. Mercury and Jupiter influences are considered.

Business compatibility — important for work relationships and business partnerships. Saturn influence and ability to achieve goals together is analyzed.

Family compatibility — shows prospects for creating a strong family and raising children. Moon's influence plays a special role.

Elements and their interaction

The four zodiac elements create different types of energetic interaction:

  • Fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) — energetic, passionate, initiating
  • Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) — practical, reliable, stable
  • Air signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) — intellectual, communicative, freedom-loving
  • Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) — emotional, intuitive, sensitive

Most harmonious combinations: Fire with Air, Earth with Water. These combinations complement each other and create balanced relationships.

Practical usage tips

Astrological compatibility calculator should be used as an additional tool for understanding relationships, not as a final verdict. Remember:

«The stars incline, but do not compel» — classical astrological wisdom emphasizes that relationship success depends on partners' efforts.

Even signs with low astrological compatibility can create happy relationships with mutual desire to work on understanding and accepting partner's differences.

Zodiac Compatibility Calculator

Zodiac compatibility calculator helps determine astrological compatibility between two zodiac signs. Analysis is based on elements, modalities, planetary rulers and millennia of astrological knowledge. For example, it can help you find out can Aries and Leo have a successful relationship? (The answer is: 93% (excellent compatibility)). Select the first sign (e.g. 'Aries') and second sign (e.g. 'Leo'), then click the 'Calculate' button.

FAQ

How is the compatibility percentage calculated?

It is a weighted blend of four separate scores: love counts for 35%, friendship for 25%, business for 20% and family for 20%. Each of the four starts from a table of values for the two signs and is then adjusted by their elements, their modalities and their ruling planets.

How should the percentage be read?

90% and above is rated excellent here, 80–89% very good, 70–79% good, 60–69% average and anything below 60% low. The bands describe this model and not a forecast: it sees the two sun signs and nothing else about the two people.

What do the elements and modalities mean?

Each of the twelve signs carries one of four elements — fire, earth, air and water, three signs each — and one of three modalities: cardinal, fixed and mutable, four signs each. In this model fire with air and earth with water score highest at 90, a sign paired with its own element scores 85, and fire with water is the weakest combination at 55.

Does it matter which sign I pick first?

No. Every component of the score is symmetric, so Aries with Leo and Leo with Aries return exactly the same percentage and the same breakdown.
