Is the end date counted?
The start date is counted, the end date is not: September 1, 2026 to May 31, 2027 is 272 days; counting both ends gives 273 days.
Does the result include weekends as working days?
The total "Days Count" includes every day of the week, but the calculator also reports a separate "Business Days" figure that excludes Saturdays, Sundays and US federal holidays on the day they are observed, so you can see both numbers at a glance.
Does it matter which date I enter first, the earlier or the later one?
No — the calculator works out the absolute distance between the two dates, so entering the later date first returns exactly the same day count as entering it second.
